Every year the PSCF Foundation Seminole County High School Scholarship Program awards five $1,000 scholarships to local high school students who demonstrates extraordinary scholarship, integrity, and a strong interest in medicine and science. These awards
are known as the Dr. Luis Perez, Dr. Willie Newman, and Dr. Zabunnissa Vyas Scholarships.
Dr. Luis Perez Scholarship

In honor and memory of Dr. Luis M. Perez 1928 - 1988
The Physicians Society of Central Florida Foundation is proud to offer the 2024 Dr. Luis Perez Scholarship, designed to aid high school seniors who currently attend a school in Seminole County, and who wish to further their education in the sciences.
Preference will be given to applicants with a 3.5 grade-point average or better and who have done well in at least three science courses during high school.
Those who knew Dr. Luis Perez realized that he was passionate about many things: his wife and family; the importance of education; his home country Cuba; his adopted country the United States; and his medical practice. All these attributes are reflected
in the PSCF Foundation “Dr. Luis Perez Scholarship” award.
Preference will be given to applicants with a 3.5 grade-point average or better and who have done well in at least three science courses during high school. To be eligible, applicants must submit a transcript of his/her
grades through the first semester of the current school year; a list of extracurricular activities; and an essay of 300 words or less about themselves and their goals for college. One scholarship per year of $1,000 will be awarded on the basis of
merit and need.
