2020 PSCF Foundation Virtual Wine Tasting Fundraiser

COVID RELIEF FOR THE PSCF PHYSICIAN WELLNESS PROGRAM

Normally, the PSCF Foundation would have hosted a Gala Fundraiser event to benefit some of our great programs, but as we know, the pandemic has changed things for all of us in 2020.

However, the show must go on!  The PSCF Foundation is raising funds for our brand new Physician Wellness Program.  With so many of our medical professionals giving 110% of themselves on the front lines to help during these challenging times, many are experiencing major stress and burnout.  The PSCF Foundation Physician Wellness Program provides completely confidential counseling free of charge to PSCF physicians to help them get through these tough times and back to caring for their patients.

As we all try to remain socially distant, we partnered with Bouchaine Vineyards out of Napa Valley  in California to host a Virtual Wine  Tasting.  We were very excited about this opportunity to virtually connect with our member physicians and their loved ones while tasting wines shipped directly from Napa.  We’ll had a Napa Sommelier guiding the group through the tasting as well as live music, trivia, and other fun! 

Our attendees were able to sit back, relax, and enjoy a tasting from the comfort of their home while virtually visiting Napa Valley from Bouchaine Vineyard’s beautiful estate in Carneros, CA. Bouchaine is a small, family-owned winery with 100 acres of green certified estate vineyards overlooking San Francisco Bay.

PHYSICIAN WELLNESS PROGRAM

The COVID-19 pandemic has shaken physicians’ sense of order and control. Such disruptions may lead to substantial stress in the short term and higher risk for burnout over the long term. This pandemic poses unique, long-term stressors and risks to physicians’ physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

That is why now more than ever it’s important for our organization to provide a Physician Wellness Program that can accommodate all physicians within our community who need to use this service so that they can continue to effectively serve the patients of our community. 

In an effort to ensure the PSCF Foundation can continue to cover the cost of physician visits with counselors through this program, the funds raised from the 2020 PSCF Foundation Virtual Wine Tasting Fundraiser will go towards the PSCF Physician Wellness Program.
